This guidance explains how you can configure the TurboVote → VAN integration to share TurboVote signup data to products built on the VAN platform, including EveryAction.
Our EveryAction integration is a one-way batch sync from TurboVote to your EveryAction instance, run on a daily schedule. Each run exports eligible users, submits them to EveryAction for contact creation or update, captures the EveryAction identifiers the remote system returns, and reuses those identifiers in later exports so the same contacts are updated rather than duplicated.
Set Up the Integration
To get started:
1. In EveryAction, go to the API Integrations page and select "Request an API Key." You will see TurboVote listed in the dropdown.
- Note: Specifically in voter file environments that use both My Campaign and My Voters, you must be logged in to My Campaign in order to see the integration in the dropdown.
2. If applicable, your admin will need to approve the request.
3. Share the API key with the TurboVote Partnerships team securely and we'll connect it to your TurboVote instance.
4. We'll map the contact information fields outlined below.
5. Collaborate with our team to map custom contact fields, if applicable. Let us know which TurboVote User Export fields need to map to which custom contact fields. Once we know the field names, we can discover the mapping on our side via API and implement.
Contact Fields Mapping
By default, TurboVote contact information fields will be mapped to the following EveryAction fields. We can also support custom field mapping for your implementation (e.g., UTMs).
